The Blue Jackets play their first ever European Exhibition game this afternoon against the Malmo Redhawks.
Gotta love Google Translate on a day like today.
1:00pm EST, Malmo Arena
Game not available on television, will be streamed live on NHL.com
From the Malmo Website:
Looks like a pretty nice arena, and nearly brand new. I’m going to try to watch as much as possible on the NHL website this afternoon, because the International Ice should present a bit of a different challenge for the Jackets.
The Cannon has a great game primer for all of us who aren’t taking the time to write about a bunch of players you’ve never heard of. Be sure to give it a read. The one in-game story you should take note of is that Jackets prospect Anton Blomqvist will be playing against his parent club. Hopefully there are no rookie-camp rivalries still brewing.
If you did not hear, the NHL Network (USA) announced that Saturday’s game against the San Jose Sharks will be broadcast live at 3:00pm Saturday. This was an expected move, but one that needs to be shared.
After today, the games count.
Go Jackets
