Well here we go. Will the news of looming trades, waiver claims, etc. be enough motivation for the Jackets to find a way to win in Anaheim, or will it be a distraction and the Jackets roll over again?

What a crazy past 48 hours. The first notice I received of everything going down in “Jacketsland” was a text reading “The shit hit the fan”.
So far Kyle Wilson has cleared waivers, Ethan Moreau has been moved to the IR, Matt Calvert was recalled from Springfield, and Mike Commodore asked for a trade and was sent through waivers, and like Wilson, cleared them.
A crazy series of events not many could have predicted.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Jackets will be distracted by all of this tonight as the face-off against the “Mighty Ducks of Anaheim”… oh it isn’t 1999.
I’m really looking forward to watching Matt Calvert in action. Something about the energy in how he played during the Memorial Cup last winter makes everyone watching, and more importantly the team, perform with significantly more energy and excitement… something the Jackets desperately need when facing uncertainty.
Mason is expected to start, but no one knows for certain except for the man in charge.
The guys must find a way to dig deep and come out victorious tonight.
